Football Roundup: Scarborough in the playoffs

GORHAM – Scott Thibeault capped a strong rushing game with a pair of touchdowns Friday night to lead Scarborough to a 41-12 victory against Gorham in their Western Class A showdown.

The victory catapulted Scar-borough (3-5) past Gorham (4-4) and Massabesic, and into the eighth and final playoff spot in the Crabtree standings.

Scarborough will play at unbeaten and top-ranked Cheverus, the defending state champion, in the first round next weekend.

Below is a link to the Crab Tree Standings.  You will see Scarborough in at #8, with just 1.1457 points above #9, Gorham.  WHEW!!!
