Jr RedStorm
The 7th and 8th grade players are an independent team, known as the “Junior RedStorm”. They participate in the Southern Maine Youth Football League, known as SMYFL.
This league is fully funded by registration and fund raising efforts. Check out the fund raising page for the latest fund raising events. We always need volunteers!
Registrations take place May through June, but registrations are still accepted throughout the summer. See the Registration page for details: Registration Info
Equipment
The following list of equipment is needed for players, to be supplied by parents/guardians. Be on the look out for an “equipment night” where an Football Equipment supplier will be available to help fit players into equipment and aid in the ordering of equipment.
The Scarborough Football Club provides Game Jerseys and Game Pants.
Note: At this level, a majority of the game pants do not have snaps. Instead, hip and tail pads can either be attached using a belt, or require a girdle. It is recommended that you don’t purchase pants with pads sewn into the pants, but practice pants that have snaps and pockets for pads and purchase a separate hip, knee, and thigh pad set to fit the pants.
August 2010 Practice Schedule (updated 6/29/2010)
August 10th – 12th: 4:30-6:30pm with Uppers Only (shoulder pads, helmets, cleats)
August 13th: 4:30-6:30pm with full equipment. Full equipment from now on.
August 16th – August 18th: Double Sessions: 8-10am, and again 4:30-6:30pm.
August 19th & 20th 4:30-6:30pm.
August 21st: Exhibition Game against Saco @home.
August 23rd-27th: 4:30-6:30pm.
August 29th: Season opener game against Westbrook @home.
