The rest of the half was dominated by defense with the Strom standouts being Jeff Russell, Dan LeClair, Charlie Raybine and Brendon Smith. Smith’s fumble recovery and Raybine's interception once again turned the table. The Red Storm took over on the BE 30yd line after the Raybine interception with just seconds to go and the Storm gave it at great charge to goal and was stopped on the 2yd line as the buzzer sounded ending the first half.
The second half was more of the same hard hitting defense play by both teams. The key moment came in the second half when the Red Storm defense held Bonny Eagle and forced a turn over on downs, placing the offense in excellent position. This time the Red Storm offense pulled together and proved too strong driving the ball into the end zone. The scored proved what would be the margin of victory in this defensive battle. Bonny Eagle stopped the conversion and Red Storm led 12 - 6. One more Bonny Eagle drive was greeted with a Red Strom defense that just got stronger in the Red Zone, and with just 3 mins to go forced Bonny Eagle to give the ball up once again on downs.
It was now in the hands of the Red Storm offense to run out the clock and by staying focused and disciplined the Red Storm offense played mistake free football. Getting the first downs and eating up the play clock ending in a 12-6 final margin of victory.
After the game Coach Spino let the team now how proud he was of the team and this game was a shining example of these student athletes playing whistle to whistle and refusing to give up despite facing such a great BE squad.
As if the day belonged to the Defenses. In a virtual replay of the first game the RS JV came out on top of the BE JV 12-6 in a game that was not decided until the closing minute of the game.
