Sunday's game featured the annual classic battle for the Town Line Trophy between Scarborough and Gorham, a game that makes both teams dig deep inside for the pride of taking this prize back to their home town.

The game started with Gorham receiving the ball. The Red Storm defense did what they have been doing all year, executed their defense and stopped the Gorham offense forcing a punt. Now it was time for the Scarborough offense to go to work quickly driving the ball 70 yards ending in the combination of Greenberg to Raybine pass resulting in a touchdown. Red Storm went for the 2 point conversion and Adams was successful rushing the ball across the goal line.

Gorham notched up the sense of urgency and immediately struck back with a 60yd TD, however the Red Storm pulled together to stop the 2 point conversion and keep the score at 8-6 Scarborough. The teams jockeyed back and forth with punts and turnovers on downs. Then as the Scarborough team has done all year they cut loose with another big time play as Greenberg found Morris for a 54yd TD pass.  Greenberg then added the conversion behind a strong Scarborough Offensive line anchored by Mike Pino and Jacob MacDonald making the score 16-6 Scarborough.
Just when it seemed the momentum was in favor of the Red Storm, the boys from Gorham put together a drive at the end of the second quarter making the score 16-12 Scarborough leaving only seconds on the clock. Once again the Red Storm with only 24 seconds remaining in the first half executed a play that broke Greenberg free and with great down field blocking he flew into the end zone  and Chase Damon added the first of 4 extra points on the day. Allowing Scarborough too gain back the momentum as they went into half time.

As the second began field position was jockeyed for by both teams until Brendon Smith pounced on a fumble giving the Storm field position which lead to a Kenny Adams Touchdown behind the great blocking we have come to expect from Le Clair, Graef, Thayer and Pino

This game was played on a hot sunny day making it tough going in the second half.  As the Red Storm took the field in the second half it was clear to all that the pre-season work and weekly practices gave them the physical stamina, determination, and the mental attitude to stay focused on the game and execution of plays on a day when it would be very easy to quit against such a formidable opponent but our team proved hard work pays big dividends on days like this, and just seemed to get stronger as the game went on. Never giving up and making the opponent earn every yard. Digging deep within themselves and showing mind over matter.

Gorham was not just going to roll over and scored again closing the gap to 37 -18 Scarborough. Just as things seemed within reach for Gorham, the Red Strom’s reached back into the playbook and Christopher Cyr broke several tackles and sprinted for a 55 yd TD run from the full back position. Adding more ground yards to the team stats, on the offensive line one standout was Eddie Kinsman who had an outstanding day opening holes for LeClair and Adams.

Brendon Smith lead the Defensive at line backer recovering two fumbles and making a TD saving tackle. Also adding to the defensive effort was Jacobe Dipietro who sacked the Gorham QB to stop a scoring drive and Luke Bernard who in the closing seconds made a great open field tackle from his safety position to save a TD.
Next up was the junior varsity squads of Scarborough and Gorham.  Scarborough jumped out in front 14 to nothing.  The teams then exchanged punts and then it was Gorham’s turn to score.  The final was 28 – 6. Outstanding performances were turned in by running back Peter Danton and wide receiver Matt Fosler.  Zach Carriero also turned in an outstanding performance as the junior's quarter back. The JV outstanding Defensive player was Jordan Flannery
